
YDH IG Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohamad Fuzi Hassan represented Malaysia at 87th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Dubai, UAE held from 18th to 21st November 2018. IGP Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohamad Fuzi Hassan was amongst the over 1,000 delegates from 194 nations including 50 Ministers and 85 National Head of Police. INTERPOL enables police from its 194 member countries to work together to fight international crime providing a range of policing expertise and capabilities, supporting three main crime programs: Counter-Terrorism, Cybercrime and Organized & Emerging Crime. These three main crimes are of continuing interest to MCPF and our YDH IG Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohamad Fuzi Hassan’s attendance of this Annual supreme governing body where major decisions are made affecting general policy, resources needed for international cooperation, working methods, finances and programs of activities are deliberated upon adds further value and expertise to MCPF where Tan Sri Dato’ Sri is also our MCPF Deputy Chairman. At this year’s General Assembly, South Korea’s Kim Jong Yang was elected as INTERPOL’s new President whilst the Oceanic countries of Kiribati and Vanuatu were added as its 193rd and 194th nations respectively.
