MCPF SLC Penang Members attend PENSEC 15th AGM at Amari Spice Hotel, Bayan Lepas

MCPF Penang continues to have close rapport with the Industry at large through many of its SLC Member being part of PENSEC (Penang Security Practitioners Organization). MCPF Penang Vice-Chairman (I) Encik Rosli Mohamed Ali; Secretary Mr. Johnny Michael Tan (cum PENSEC Auditor); Committee Member YBhg. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran; SLC Committee Member / SPT DLC Chairman Encik Ridzuan Md Zain; Committee Member Encik Rahumathullah Ibrahim and Timur Laut DLC Secretary Mr. Peter Paul Arokiyasamy were in attendance at the PENSEC 16th AGM held at Citrine Room, Amari Spice Hotel, Bayan Lepas, Penang on 23rd May 2024. The Highlights included 1. Talk on Security System Technology by Ms. Jenesta Woon, Country Business Director, Robert Bosch Sdn. Bhd.; and, 2. Talk on Women, Girls & Children Protection entitled ‘Seksual dan Keganasan Rumahtangga’ by Insp. Suryana binti Mohamed, Siasatan Sensual, Wanita & Kanak-Kanak (D11), Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah Daerah IPD Seberang Perai Selatan, P. Pinang. Some pertinent notables were: 1. Technology include Internet of Thongs (IoT) and Smart Data & AI; 2. Evolution from Analog to Digital “Today, Anywhere & Everywhere”; 3. AI as defined by Bosch is about ‘Intelligence on the Edge; 4. Report: Past, old versus Live –> Dashboard; 5. PDRM encourages liaising closely with Pegawai Perhubungan Sekolah (PPS) & School Authorities on Sexual Abuse / Harassment cases involving School students; 6. Sexual Harassment issues occur at School Hostels as well as Employee Hostels (of Factory Workers); 7. PDRM Speaker confirmed close rapport with WCC Penang on reported sexual abuse involving school students; 8. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran of Force One Protection Sdn. Bhd. & Mr. Peter Paul Arokiyasamy of Symphony Guardforce Sdn Bhd. were amongst a dozen sponsors of the event and Encik. Rahumathullah Ibrahim was one of the Lucky Prize winners; 9. There remained a common perception that Security as a career is a ‘last option’ and request for equipment / technology investments being disadvantaged versus other funding; 10. PENSEC will be launching their Website soon (moving away from the previous ‘Blog’ based) portal. 11. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran urged PENSEC to explore collaboration with MCPF Penang on Crime Prevention Awareness efforts for PENSEC Members; 12. PENSEC Interim Chairman Encik Mohamed Shafiq Muraly Abdullah shared that PENSEC looked forward to future Programs & Events with FREPENCA, MCPF Penang and SWISS (Selangor Wilayah Industrial Security Society). Encik Rahumathullah Ibrahim elaborated on SWISS to the attendees present.
