
MCPF Penang SLC Ex-Officio Member cum North-East DLC Member Hj. Shalehudin bin Hj. Hashim was amongst the Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP) officers who were present of an on-site inspection and audit of the MBPP CCTV Control room in preparation for the anticipated monsoonal weather. This inspection held on 10th October 2018 focused on the proper working conditions of all hardware and systems to ensure that the CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras were in working order as it is used to monitor crime / traffic flow as well as road conditions throughout Penang Island. The system, used in close cognizance and coordination with the Royal Malaysia Police, Penang Contingent is helping to monitor adversarial situations such as flash floods, mudslides, landslides, overflowing monsoon drains, falling trees, accidents and other mishaps during thunderstorms and heavy rains. It will also assist to ensure proper street lighting, illegal parking / obstructions and dumping activities, illegal hawking and even monitoring of crimes that could be committed during times of natural / man-made disasters.
