MCPF Penang SLC and Penang MCPF Members attend 26th MCPF AGM at Senior Officers’ Mess, Bukit Aman

The 25th MCPF AGM was held at the Royal Malaysia Police Senior Officers Mess (Mess Pegawai Kanan PDRM), Bukit Aman on 10th March 2019. The 26th MCPF AGM was preceded with the 1st MCPF EXCO Meeting of 2019 chaired by its newly appointed Chairman YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Dr. Wan Ismail, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. It was a meeting that was highly anticipated as members were very keen to hear the thoughts and perspectives of our new Chairman (effective 1st February 2019) given the change of the new Federal Government. Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah announced that the State Chairmanship would be appointed shortly after her personal review. Senior Vice-Chairman Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Lam Thye announced the proposal to include into the Federal MCPF Ex-Officio team the Director-General / Head of Agensi Anti-Dadah Kebangsaan (AADK) /National Anti-Drug Agency, Customs and Excise Department as well as Chief of Cyber Security. Heavy emphasis and focus to combat the scourge of Drugs at all levels. The EXCO also approved a motion to include school principals in Crime Prevention programs, activities and events.


The MCPF Penang contingent was among those that were well represented. It was led by MCPF Penang Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali. Other SLC Members were MCPF Penang Deputy Chairman cum MCPF (Federal) Vice-Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ K. Pulayantran; MCPF (Federal) EXCO Member Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng; North-East DLC Chairman JM Tan; South-West DLC Chairman James Mohan; SPU DLC Chairman Munusamy Muniandy; North-East DLC Vice-Chairman (II) Felix Chuah Gim Chuan; North-East DLC Treasurer Joseph Sawaremuthu; South-West DLC Vice-Chairman (II) Syed Abdul Rahman Syed Jaafar; SPU DLC Secretary Paramaguru Balan Moghan and Yazid Razali. Other MCPF Members from Penang who took the efforts to support and attend this 26th AGM were Dr. Shamsher Singh Thing, Sunny Peh, Maj, (H) M. Kaleessvaran and Mohamed Azmi Aboo Haniffa. A key contribution by MCPF Penang SLC was to have its “MCPF Penang 2018 Highlights” Coffee Table Book being presented to MCPF EXCO Members and other State Liaison Committee Chairmen.

This special publication which captured the various Programs, Activities and Key Events of MCPF Penang is the second one (after the inaugural 2017 publication).
