MCPF Penang & MCPF Federal Secretariat attended the Official Launching of Penang Goes Orange 2024 at UiTM Branch Campus, Permatang Pauh, Penang on Saturday 7^th December 2024 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. This is the 11^th Annual edition of PGO and this year’s Theme is #Swipe2Stop with the Main focus on “On-line Sexual Violence” impacting the public. The Welcome Speech was delivered by Y.Brs. Assoc. TS. Dr Kay Dora binti Abdul Ghani, Deputy Rector, Office of Research, Industry, Community and Alumni Network UiTM Penang Branch Campus.  YB Puan Lim Siew Khim, Penang State EXCO for Social Development, Welfare & Non-Islamic Affairs delivered the Keynote Address and officiated the Launching of PGO2024. The CEO of Penang Women’s Development Corporation Y.Bhg. Ong Bee Leng was amongst the VIPs present. Key demographic target of youths aged 18 to 35 was addressed and updated on key statistics of On-line abuse. The program was attended by representatives of 40 NGOs and Government agencies including Flex Penang, Digital Penang, MBPP, MBSP, Police, UiTM, MCPF, D’Home, WCC, PYDC, and Sneham. Students of UiTM and other institutes of Higher Learning in Penang were amongst a total of around 800+ participants.

MCPF Penang was represented by its Deputy Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Pulayantran, Secretary Johnny Michael Tan, Timur Laut DLC Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Felix Chuah Gim Chuan, Barat Daya DLC Chairman Mr. James Mohan, SPS DLC Chairman Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan, SPU DLC Chairman Mr. Munusamy Muniandy, SLC Members Y.Bhg. Dato’ M. Kaleessvaran, Encik Rahumathullah Ibrahim, Mr. Joseph Sawaremuthu, and Mr. Thomas Goh, SPT DLC Vice-Chairman (II). Tuan Norazlan Hj Idris and Encik Mohammad Sahrul Zainal Abidin of MCPF HQ were also in attendance. There were 18 booths from the sponsors. The MCPF exhibition booth was well patronized. The highlight of the program was a Forum on “Tanggongjawab Bersama: Membenteras Keganasan Dalam Talian” (“The Joint Responsibilities of Eradicating On-line Violence”). The panelists comprising YDH Supt Hirdawati binti Isa (D11, CID Bukit Aman); Tuan Mohamad Rashdi Hasan (Head of Regulatory Section, MCMC); and Puan Salma Farhanah A Rashid (Service Coordinator of WCC) were moderated by Puan Fashin Diyana Mohamad Fadzil, Lecturer from UiTM. The panelists explained their respective roles as well as that of the young generation in combating On-line Sexual Violence.
