MCPF Penang conducts courtesy visit and holds a dialogue session with YDH CP Dato’ Sahabudin bin Manan and his team at IPK P. Pinang

MCPF Penang led by its Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar Syed Ali paid a courtesy visit and held a productive dialogue session with YDH CP Dato’ Sahabudin bin Abd Manan, Chief Police Officer of Penang and his Royal Malaysia Police team at the Main Meeting Room of the RMP Penang HQ on 24th June 2020. Accompanying Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri Syed Jaafar were Deputy Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ K. Pulayantran, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng (MCPF Federal EXCO / MCPF Penang SLC); Y.Bhg. Associate Professor Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy (MCPF Federal EXCO); Dr. EL Ching (MCPF Penang Secretary cum SPT DLC Chairman) and Harikumar Katherasen (MCPF Penang Treasurer). Attendees from PDRM were YDH CP Dato’ Sahabudin bin Abd Manan; Deputy CPO Penang YDH DCP Dato’ Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Majid; Head of Department of Crime Prevention and Community Safety (JPJKK) Penang YDH SAC Zundin bin Mahmood (also MCPF Penang SLC Vice-Chairman [I]) and other Senior Police Officers from the CPCS Department, Penang RMP HQ. Following the Welcoming Speeches by both Dato’ Syed Jaafar and Dato’ Sahabudin, MCPF Penang Treasurer Harikumar shared an overview on MCPF and short briefing on MCPF Penang focus, programs and activities. It was a very positive discussion with YDH CP Dato’ Sahabudin emphasizing that MCPF is a most important partner of PDRM and that he would like the long term collaboration / cooperation to continue. He highlighted that we need to find more creative ways to continue our crime prevention activities within the post-pandemic ‘new norm’ and suggested that a brainstorming session be held between MCPF and RMP Penang on enhanced strategies to further our quest. YDH DCP Dato’ Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Majid echoed his full support and it is envisaged that both MCPF Penang and RMP Penang will continue to work in unison on Crime Prevention efforts.
