MCPF Penang is invited to join CPR USM on their 50th Anniversary Celebration at St. Giles Wembley, George Town

The 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), Universiti Sains Malaysia and a sharing session commemorating the scholastic journey of YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. K. J. Ratnam (Founder of the Centre for Policy Research, USM and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation) was officiated by Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, Governor of Penang at St. Giles Wembley Penang on Monday 7th January 2025. Among the distinguished guests were YDH CP Dato’ Seri Mohd Shuhaily bin Mohd Zain (Director, Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman); YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ong Poh Eng (Chairman, MCPF Penang); YBhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran (Deputy Chairman, MCPF Penang); and, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. P. Sundramoorthy (Assoc. Prof [Hon] Centre for Policy Research, USM / also Advisor, MCPF Penang).  The program included the Opening Speech by Assoc. Prof Dr. Azeem Fazwan bin Ahmad Farouk (Director, Centre for Policy Research, USM); Address by Vice-Chancellor, USM YBhg. Prof Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed; Opening Address and Signing of the 50th Commemorative Plaque of the Centre for Policy Research, USM by TYT Tun; Launching of Centre for Policy Research “Policy Briefs” Book and Manuscripts; Presentation of Souvenir to TYT Tun; and a Video viewing of 50 Years of the Centre for Policy Research, USM. Congratulations to CPR USM in achieving a half century of historical milestones and achievements. MCPF Penang has indeed been an engaging partner and participant with CPR USM over the years particularly on topics relating to Policies that has a societal impact including issues / challenges where Crime Prevention Awareness is a critical facet.
