MCPF Penang supports Balai Polis Cermelang MCPF 2024 On-site Visit and Audit at Balai Polis Sungai Korok (BP Luar Bandar / Rural)

Program Lawatan Balai Polis: Balai Polis Cermelang MCPF 2024. BP Luar Bandar / Rural: Balai Polis Sungai Korok (Barat Daya) was successfully completed on Thursday 24th October 2024 from 2:30 pm to 4:10 pm. MCPF Penang delegates were: 1. Secretary Mr. JM Tan; 2. Barat Daya DLC Chairman Mr. James Mohan; and 3. SPS DLC Chairman Mr. Paramaguru Balan Moghan. The Program Audit Panel included: 1. YBhg. Datuk Kamarudin bin Md Ali (EXCO, MCPF Federal); 2. YBhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran; 3. YBrs. Dr. Puan Wan Su (EXCO, MCPF Federal); and, 4. Tuan Zulhairi bin Zainol (Deputy Director, JPNIN, Pulau Pinang). They were accompanied by… 1. YDH ASP Azwan bin Saffiai (Liaison Officers, Bukit Aman); 2. Mr. Bala Karupiah (Operations & Corporate Communications Manager, MCPF Secretariat); and, 3. Encik Muhammad Sahrul Zainal Abidin (Executive – Operations, MCPF Secretariat). PDRM: 1. YDH Tuan DSP Hassan bin Mohd Salleh (Ketua Bahagian Pengurusan IPD Barat Daya) representing YDH Tuan Supt. Kamarul Rizal bin Jenal (OCPD, Barat Daya); 2. Sgt. Ahmad Fauzi bin Rami (OCS, Balai Polis Sungai Korok); 3. Police Officers from IPK Pulau Pinang; 4. Police Officers from IPD Barat Daya; 5. Police Officers / Staff from Balai Polis Sungai Korok. Also present were 30+ representatives from various Agencies and Communities. The Agenda covered: 1. Speech by Datuk Kamarudin bin Md Ali; 2. Introduction and presentation about Balai Polis Sungai Korok; 3. Six ‘Open Questions’ read out by Datuk Kamarudin bin Md Ali to the community attendees covering: Discussion and polling of: a. fair and equitable treatment of society; b. sincerity and accountability in information shared; c. social activities; d. community policing activities; e. frequency of police presence; and f. professionalism of police officers. 4. The facilitative session to elicit a (42 questions questionnaire) was conducted by Mr. Bala Karupiah for assessment of services rendered to the public by Balai Polis Sungai Korok. 5. Q&A session; 6. Group photographs; 7. End. Brief Summary: A. Balai Polis Sungai Korok was established in 1985 as a Pondok and upgraded to a Balai Polis in 2009; B. BP Sungai Korok covers 3 Mukims; C. Its staff of 8 serves a population of 5,321 at a ratio of 1 Police staff to 665 residents. D. MCPF plays a significant role in the judging of this Award Program which commenced in 2017 and is now covering 4 Balai Polis categories and shortlisted 55 Balai Polis nationwide. Rewards include visitation to other countries police stations which for this year’s competition is being planned for Shanghai; E. Topics of current key concerns discussed included Drugs (including emphasis on Vaping including ‘Mushrooming’); and Scams; F. The audience was more aware of MCPF and the significance of MCPF / Police unique collaboration and cooperation in Crime Prevention efforts.
