STAY focused on education, be self-disciplined and practise good time management.

These were among the advice given by Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Penang chapter vice-chairman Datuk K.R. Pulayantran (pic) to a group of students who attended a half-day workshop at SMK Bandar Tasek Mutiara in Simpang Ampat, Penang.

Pulayantran also told them to select friends who have a positive attitude.

“Your parents are waiting to see you be somebody one day. Do not disappoint them,” he said in his speech when opening the self-development and motivation workshop recently.

Some 50 Indian students from the school attended the workshop.

It was organised by the Penang Indian Students, Parents and Teachers Association with the co-operation of the MCPF Penang chapter and the state education department’s co-curriculum unit.

Also present were unit chief Zulkafli Kamaruddin, the department’s Tamil language assistant director A. Sagundala and association chairman A. Ganesan.
