A 2-Days Crime Prevention Program was held from 16^th July 2022 to 17^th July 2022 at Pranging Mall, George Town, Penang in conjunction with the Penang Wushu, Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Championship 2022. The Event was officiated by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang. Representing MCPF were MCPF Senior Vice-Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Sri Ayub bin Yaakob, MCPF Vice-Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Sri Johny Ch’ng Ewe Gee, MCPF Penang Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ong Poh Eng and MCPF Penang Deputy Chairman Y.Bhg. Dato’ Seri K. Pulayantran. Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Penang Wushu, Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Federation; YB Soon Lip Chee, Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports; YB Teh Lai Heng ADUN KOMTAR; Working Committee Members from MCPF; Working Committee Members from Penang Wushu, Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Societies; Parents and Teachers from Penang Secondary and Primary Schools. This successful event attracted over 800 Penang Secondary and Primary students with the support and participation of accompanying parents. Dato’ Sri Johny Ch’ng shared an overview of MCPF in the morning of 16^th July 2022. Speeches were also made by President of Penang Wushu, Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Federation, YB Soon Lip Chee and Y.Bhg. Dato’ Sri Johny Ch’ng. YAB Tuan Chan Kon Yeow delivered the Official Launching speech. The Wushu Competition lasted through till 11:00 pm on Day 1. On Day 2, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Sri Johny Ch’ng held a ‘Crime Prevention Ceramah’ to the participants and students in attendance. The past Deputy Commissioner of MACC Y.Bhg. Dato’ Ganesan delivered a ‘Ceramah’ on Corruption and Integrity. Dr. Darsan Singh of USM also spoke on Drug Abuse Prevention. The Lion Dance and Dragon Dance Competition lasted through till 10:30 pm on Day 2.
